The Consulate General of the United State of America is currently recruiting applicants for several Locally Engaged Staff (LES) positions in the Political/ Economic Section

   1.      Political/ Economic Specialist

   2.      Political/ Economic Assistant

The duties of these positions require reguler travel throughout eastern Indonesia, the ability to produce report and memos in a fast-paced environment, the capability to plan and execute events on short deadlines, and dedication to working as part of diverse team in support of US. Mission goals.

Qualifications:

   1.      A Bachelor’s Degree in a Liberal Arts or Social Sciences disipline

   2.      A Minimum of 5 years (2), 7 years (1) experience working in the following fields: political analysis, economic analysis, legal analysis, public policy, international organizations, journalism, development work, project/ program management or university teaching.

   3.      Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia (native) and English.

   4.      Thorough knowledge of Indonesia’s political, social, economic environment. Familiarity with current events related to politics, education, religion, human rights environment, investment and economic development issues

   5.      Ability to use computer, including mobile computer devices across multiple platforms. Familiarity with social media, website and other electronic sources for information gathering and research.
